Khao Kheow official programme information ↗If you are visiting with older adults or anyone who may find a long walk difficult, consider a golf cart or an in-zoo vehicle. Golf carts and EV tricycles are rented in two-hour periods; the electric sightseeing train and zoo tram are charged per ride.
See giraffes, white rhinos, deer and a family of hippos, then visit areas with two-toed sloths and ring-tailed lemurs. The zoo’s featured animals also include giant anteaters, capybaras and wombats.
Ring-tailed lemurs live in an island-like enclosure surrounded by water. Viewing the regular exhibits is different from feeding animals or taking part in a closer-contact activity. Join feeding or contact experiences only in the areas allowed that day and as staff direct.
Moo Deng, a pygmy hippo born here on 10 July 2024, became known for her energetic movements and daily antics. Her parents are Tony and Jona, and her sibling is Mu Tun. If you visit to see Moo Deng, it is also useful to know the names of her hippo family and that they are individual animals of the same species.
During the elephant swimming programme, watch elephants through the glass of a large tank. See how these big animals move and swim underwater. The penguin parade offers a different kind of viewing, as penguins walk out in a line.
Elephant swimming is viewed through the window of a large tank; the penguin parade is a scheduled walk by the penguins. The programmes take place in different areas, so consider their start times and the time needed to move between them.
Behind the visitor areas are spaces for wildlife conservation, education and research. Not all of the zoo is open to visitors; some areas are restricted to support research and conservation. If you are visiting with children, allow enough time to observe the animals that interest you and read the information.
The zoo lists golf carts, electric sightseeing trains, trams and EV three-wheelers for travelling between exhibits. Their charges differ, whether by ride or by two-hour rental, so choose how you want to get around the large grounds.
Admission, transport such as carts, electric trains and trams, and separate feeding or contact experiences are different ticket items. You can use transport inside the zoo if it is difficult for anyone in your group to walk far.
Golf carts are listed at 500–700 baht per vehicle for two hours. Each cart has a passenger limit and return time; conditions may apply if you keep it beyond two hours.
