A safari through the window of your vehicle
Safari Park is a drive-through area designed to resemble the African savanna. Pass giraffes, zebras, deer, antelope and white rhinos, then continue to areas with lions, tigers and bears. Unlike standing in front of one enclosure, the animals and scenery change as your vehicle moves along, so look out for what appears beyond the window.
You can drive your own car or take the park’s safari coach. Coaches leave at scheduled times, so visitors without a car can also take the drive-through route. Check the coach departure times alongside the Marine Park show schedule when planning your day.
See giraffes close up at Giraffe Terrace
At Giraffe Terrace in Marine Park, stand on the terrace and see giraffes at close range. It offers a different distance and viewpoint from looking at them through the window of a safari vehicle.
There is also an activity where you can feed giraffes directly. If you take part, follow staff instructions on how to feed them.
Marine Park is more than an aquarium
Besides dolphin and sea lion show venues, Marine Park has Eggs World, a Madagascar lemur exhibit, a parrot walk and a seal area. Birds such as macaws, flamingos and scarlet ibises are among the attractions, as are tapirs, manatees and walruses. Walk between the exhibits and venues to see different kinds of animals.
Eggs World presents bird eggs and the hatching process. If your child enjoys birds and small animals, visit an exhibit between shows. There is also a large freshwater fish display, so you can see birds, land animals and aquatic life.
Choose sessions for animal and stunt shows
The operator’s schedule lists shows featuring orangutans, sea lions, elephants, dolphins and birds, alongside Cowboy Stunt and Spy War. You need to walk to the next venue after each show. Instead of rushing to see everything, choose the shows your group most wants to see so you have time for Marine Park’s exhibits too.
Seven kinds of show run at different times Tuesday to Friday, while some sessions increase on weekends and public holidays. For example, weekend dolphin shows are at 13:45 and 16:15. You can visit other animal exhibits in the morning and choose an afternoon show.
Animal feeding and the River Safari boat
Feeding activities are available for animals including giraffes, lorikeets, sun conures, pelicans, capybaras, elephants and camels. A River Safari boat route follows the waterway, giving you more activities to consider as you explore the animal exhibits.
Giraffe feeding is listed until 16:30 Tuesday to Friday and 17:00 on weekends and public holidays. The River Safari boat is a separate route operating from 10:30. Add these activities between exhibits and shows, checking what is included in your ticket product.
Places to eat between shows
Marine Park has restaurants such as Lion’s Den Restaurant, Waterside Food Court and Blossom Restaurant. Plan to eat after a bird or dolphin show before heading to another exhibit. The official map also marks snack and drink stalls and restrooms.
