WHEN TO VISIT THAILAND

Best time to visit Pattaya

November–February suits a Pattaya trip combining beach walks with time in town. Rainfall falls from November after the wetter September and October; December and January receive just 11.7mm and 16.3mm a month respectively. Walk by the sea in the morning, have lunch and a rest during the day, then return to the beach as the sun gets lower. Choose whether to swim from the day’s waves and beach instructions, rather than the month alone.

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to visit Pattaya?

November–February suits beach walks and outdoor sightseeing. December and January have little rain and average highs around 30°C, making outdoor breaks easier to arrange than in the hotter April and May. Sea conditions still change daily in the dry season; follow the day’s swimming and boating instructions.

Is average temperature enough to decide what to wear?

Look at average highs and lows too. The mean is not the temperature at a particular hour. Prepare separately for midday walks and outings in the morning or at night.

Does a rainy day mean rain all day?

No. Rainy-day counts are monthly averages and do not say when or how long it rains. Use the hourly forecast for your actual dates to adjust outdoor plans.
