Less rain does not always mean cooler weather Wetter months are those with rainfall above that city's monthly average. We calculate this average by adding the rainfall for January to December and dividing the total by 12.
The temperature section shows months that are warmer or cooler than the city's own average. Even a cooler-than-average month can still be hot or rainy. The dry season can also bring intense heat or poor air quality, so consider these alongside rainfall when choosing your travel dates.
All rainfall charts use the same scale, from 0 to 550 mm, so you can compare rainfall across destinations. Closer to your trip, check the weather forecast and sea conditions for your travel dates as well.

How do we calculate the average temperature? The annual average shown on each card is calculated from the monthly temperature ranges. For a month listed as 22–32°C, for example, we use the midpoint of 27°C. We then add the 12 monthly midpoints and divide by 12. Each month has equal weight, so differences in the number of days, such as between February and March, are not included.
The source does not explain which observations the two ends of each temperature range represent, or whether every city uses the same period of records. This estimate therefore differs from an annual average calculated from daily temperature observations. Warmer and cooler months are identified by comparing each month's midpoint with this estimate. Displayed figures are rounded, but the comparisons use the unrounded values.
The climate information is based on the monthly climate tables and methodology published by Greetings from Thailand. The site says it uses historical climate averages covering 30–50 years and names several data providers. However, it does not give the observation period for each city or link to each provider's original statistical tables. Dry seasons, rainy seasons and recommended travel months follow that site's guidance. ThaiLiveNow calculates the annual temperature estimate, warmer and cooler months, and wetter months using the methods explained above.
