Khao Lak monthly weather and climate
Khao Lak · Western Andaman coast
Sea conditions in Khao Lak differ considerably between the dry and rainy seasons. During the rainy season, rough waves make swimming dangerous, and the Similan and Surin Islands have seasonal closures. If you want to visit the islands, your travel dates need to fit their opening periods as well as the weather.
Before choosing your travel dates
The Similan and Surin Islands' opening and closure periods come from the source's seasonal guidance. They do not mean the islands open on the same dates every year. Match your island trip to the opening announcements for the year you plan to visit.
The suggested travel period is November through April, but the monthly table rates November as not recommended and April as average. Dry season does not guarantee consistently low rainfall or favorable travel weather.
