Find your way through Suvarnabhumi arrivals, departures and transfers, then choose maps, smoking areas, Bangkok transport or your airline’s counters.

First time at Suvarnabhumi Airport

If you have just arrived at Suvarnabhumi, clear immigration and collect your bags before heading into Bangkok. If you are departing, check in and pass through departure immigration before continuing to your concourse. The indoor maps separate the main terminal from concourses A–B–C, D and E–F–G.

A Door is an entrance or exit from the terminal building; a Gate is where you board your aircraft. Door 4 and boarding gate D4, for example, are different places. When looking for a smoking room or convenience store, check both the floor and whether it is before or after departure immigration.

Leaving the airport after arrival

Clear immigration, collect your checked bags and continue into the public arrivals hall. If a bag is missing or damaged, report it to your airline’s baggage desk before leaving the controlled arrivals area.
For a limousine, visit an AOT Limousine counter in the domestic or international arrivals area on Level 2 of the main terminal. For a pre-booked rental car, go to Door 7 on the same level.

Departure check-in and international connections

Find your flight number and operating airline on the departure screens before going to a check-in counter. The airline-counter page separates counter locations and opening hours by airline.
For an international connection, follow the transfer route through security on the east side of Level 3 and continue to the Level 3 boarding area. Follow the Transfer signs and the gate shown on your boarding pass.
Facilities outside the building before departure immigration are separate from those in the departures area. Do not leave the transfer route simply to reach a public-area smoking room.

Questions before using Suvarnabhumi Airport

How do arrivals and departures differ at Suvarnabhumi?

After immigration and baggage collection, you enter the public arrivals area. For departure, find the operating airline and flight number on the board, check in and pass departure immigration before following the boarding pass to your gate.

Are Door and Gate numbers the same?

Door identifies an entrance to the terminal building. Gate, such as D4 or D6, is a boarding gate. Check the floor and whether the facility is before or after immigration as well.

Smoking Area

Suvarnabhumi Airport has 4 designated smoking areas on the 1st floor, outside the building: in front of the Suvarnabhumi Airport Police Station, in front of Magic Food Court at Gate 10, Parking Building Zone 2, and Parking Building Zone 3.

Convenience stores, restaurants and ATMs

In the main terminal, 7-Eleven is at S53 on Level 4, S43 on Level 3 and S78 on B1, while Lawson is at S56 on Level 4 and S2 on Level 2.

On Level 3, you can find S&P Thai Restaurant & Bakery (F16), Burger King (F12) and KFC (F10).

The KBank ATM is at E20 on Level 3 of the main terminal.

Medical facilities

The Medical Clinic is in the public area on Level 1 of the main terminal.

Samitivej medical services are in the public area at Door 3 on Level 3 of the main terminal, and in the transit area at Gate 117 on Level 3 of SAT-1.
