Don Mueang International Airport (DMK): arrivals, departures and facilities

Text and commentary:

Read English guidance for Don Mueang International Airport: arrivals, departures, facilities and retained official airport sources. Search the separate all-country records for airline counters and contacts.

First time at Don Mueang Airport

At Don Mueang, Terminal 1 handles international flights and Terminal 2 handles domestic flights. Use Terminal 1 for an international departure. If you are connecting to a flight within Thailand, consult the Terminal 2 map and departure information.

Choose the terminal and floor first to find shops, banks and airport facilities. A staffed bank branch and an ATM are different facilities even when the same bank name appears, so check both the facility type and its location.

Terminal and floor maps

Choose the terminal and floor. Red pins identify recorded facilities or landmarks; they do not create permission to enter an area. Facility codes on the map are different from boarding-gate numbers.

Use the mouse wheel to zoom and drag to move the map. On a touchscreen, pinch with two fingers. With a keyboard, use +/− to zoom, arrow keys to move and Home to reset.

Smoking areas: before and after departure immigration

Use designated smoking areas. Keep public areas, post-immigration departures and separate spaces inside lounges distinct.

Visitor guidance and photographs from September 2026

Recent visitor guidance and photographs describe an outdoor smoking area outside Door 8 on Level 3 of international Terminal 1, towards the connection with Terminal 2. It is used before departure immigration and security.

From outside Door 8 on Level 3 of Terminal 1, follow Smoking Area signs. This public-area outdoor facility is separate from indoor lounges and the area around international boarding gates.

Public area · outside domestic arrivals

Outside Door 10, Terminal 2, Level 1

Visitor guidance from September 2026

Visitor guidance describes a container-style smoking area across the small road outside Door 10 on Level 1 of domestic Terminal 2. Building Door 10 is different from aircraft boarding Gate 10.

You cannot go directly there from the international post-immigration area. If the on-site arrangement has changed, ask airport information staff for the designated area currently in use.

Confirm your arrival terminal and onward journey

  1. Choose Terminal 1 on the map for an international arrival, or Terminal 2 for a domestic arrival.
  2. For an onward flight, check the terminal and operating airline on your booking or boarding pass first. Ask the airline whether you must collect and recheck your bags.
  3. Before moving from an international arrival to a domestic departure, ask transfer staff which immigration, baggage and terminal-transfer steps your journey requires.

From check-in to the boarding gate

  1. Use an airline counter, self-service check-in/bag drop or online check-in only where your booked airline and flight support it.
  2. International passengers must pass through departure immigration. Follow your airline’s size and weight limits for cabin bags.
  3. The airport recommends being at the boarding gate at least 45 minutes before scheduled departure. Check-in closes according to your airline’s separate rules.

Find airport facilities

Choose a terminal, floor and facility type, or search a shop name. Facility numbers are map references; they do not identify boarding gates or tell you which controlled areas you may enter.
