Phuket International Airport (HKT): arrivals, departures and facilities

First time at Phuket Airport

Phuket has separate international and domestic terminals. For an international arrival or departure, start with the international-terminal map. For flights within Thailand, including Bangkok, use the domestic-terminal map.

The international arrivals hall is on Level 1, while international self-check-in kiosks are in the Level 3 departures hall. Read the location of essential facilities such as medical rooms and smoking areas, then open the corresponding terminal and floor map.

Terminal and floor maps

Choose the terminal and floor. Red pins identify recorded facilities or landmarks; they do not create permission to enter an area. Facility codes on the map are different from boarding-gate numbers.

Use the mouse wheel to zoom and drag to move the map. On a touchscreen, pinch with two fingers. With a keyboard, use +/− to zoom, arrow keys to move and Home to reset.

Smoking areas: before and after departure immigration

Use designated smoking areas. Keep public areas, post-immigration departures and separate spaces inside lounges distinct.

Smoking Area G9, domestic terminal, Level 1

Recorded in the official map’s facility directory

The domestic-terminal Level 1 map labels its smoking area G9. Use the button below to open the relevant floor and red location pin.

Do not look for the same G9 in the international terminal or assume it is directly accessible after departure immigration. The map records a location; follow current on-site signs for opening and permitted access.

Airline guidance for designated outdoor areas · visitor guidance for the door

The airline’s official airport guidance directs smokers to designated areas outside the terminal. Recent visitor guidance places one outside Door 1 on Level 3 of the international terminal. Before departure formalities, follow the on-site Smoking Area signs.

This is a different place from G9 on domestic Level 1. At the international terminal, follow signs and staff directions outside Door 1 on Level 3. The map does not include a pin for this smoking-room entrance.

Arriving on an international flight

After entry formalities, find your flight number and assigned baggage belt on the screens in the Level 1 international arrivals hall. International arrivals use belts 1–5.
If a checked bag is missing or damaged, speak to your airline’s baggage desk before leaving the arrivals area.
If you need medical help, the clinic is in the public area by Entrance 7 on Level 1 of the international terminal. The medical information below distinguishes it from the domestic first-aid room and its opening hours.

Departing or connecting to a domestic flight

International self-check-in kiosks are in the Level 3 international departures hall. Their presence does not mean every airline or flight can use them.
Check your operating airline’s counter and bag-drop arrangements. The airline section records locations and service hours where available.
For a domestic connection, check the terminal on your boarding pass and ask whether your bags must be collected and rechecked. Do not mistake an international-terminal clinic or facility for one in the domestic terminal.

Find airport facilities

Choose a terminal, floor and facility type, or search a shop name. Facility numbers are map references; they do not identify boarding gates or tell you which controlled areas you may enter.
