Chatuchak Marketตลาดนัดจตุจักร

Bangkok · Weekend market for clothing, accessories and crafts

Chatuchak is a large Bangkok weekend market where different sections feature clothing, vintage items, art, furniture and plants. The market moved here from a square in front of the Grand Palace in 1982. Today, there are also many places to eat alongside the stalls.

Browse clothes and bags in Sections 2–4 and vintage items in Sections 5–6. If you are looking for art or furnishings, continue to Sections 7 and 25–26. The clock tower is a useful landmark for finding your way between sections.

What can you see?

Sections for clothing and vintage finds

The market guide identifies Sections 2–4 for fashion and Sections 5–6 for vintage goods. A few sections away from streets full of clothing, bags and accessories, you will find stalls selling second-hand and older items.

Make a note of the section number for a shop you like so you can find it again after browsing elsewhere. The market is large, and it is easy to lose track of where you saw a particular kind of stall.

Art, ceramics and furniture sections

Section 7 features art such as paintings; Sections 25–26 have ceramics, furniture and other home décor. Leave the clothing stalls behind to browse art and household goods.

The clock tower in the centre of the market is a useful landmark as you move between sections. It is also an easy place to meet up after exploring different stalls with your group.

Weekend shopping and plant-market days

Alongside the weekend market for clothing and crafts, a plant market is listed for Thursday and Friday, with Friday evening retail hours focused on shops. The stalls and goods available vary by day, even at the same location.

On Thursdays and Fridays, shoppers looking for potted plants and gardening items gather in the plant section. Unlike the weekend route for clothing, vintage goods, art and furniture, the focus on those days is choosing plants.

Before you visit

Check the schedule for each section and shop

The weekend market on Saturday and Sunday, the plant market on Thursday and Friday, and Friday night retail hours each have different listed schedules. Individual shops in a section may not all open and close at the same time.
