Nakhon Ratchasima · Zoo in Korat

Korat Zoo is an open-air zoo in Chai Mongkhon, Nakhon Ratchasima. Its gentle terrain and exhibits modelled on the African savanna are distinctive features. It introduces animals with different sizes and habitats, including giraffes, zebras and antelopes, as well as lions, leopards and white rhinos.

Beyond the large animal exhibits, there is also a story of breeding and conservation for the eastern sarus crane. The zoo’s sightseeing vehicles, golf carts and bicycles, as well as parking and facilities such as the water park, have separate terms from basic admission.

What can you see?

An Isan zoo with an African savanna-inspired landscape

Korat Zoo has shaped its mostly level land with gentle slopes to create an exhibit landscape like a savanna. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports facility profile lists lions, leopards, African elephants, white rhinos, African buffalo, giraffes, zebras and antelopes. Seeing large herbivores and predators in separate outdoor areas is a feature of the visit.

Giraffes, zebras and antelopes are featured in the broad exhibit areas, while other zones introduce predators such as lions and leopards. White rhinos and African buffalo also appear in the facility information, giving the savanna-themed exhibits a wide range of animals.

After the large animals, learn about crane conservation

Korat Zoo has also worked on breeding and conserving the eastern sarus crane. After seeing large animals such as lions and elephants, look at the exhibit information to learn about the zoo’s conservation work with cranes.

A zoo’s role in crane conservation does not mean every breeding or research area is open to visitors. Observe animals and read the information in visitor areas. Do not expect to see a particular breeding animal or research activity in person.

Choose between animal exhibits, programmes and other facilities

Alongside animal exhibits, Korat Zoo has also listed separate programmes and facilities such as a water park. Families who want a quieter animal visit and those who also want to swim may need different amounts of time and different tickets.

The zoo’s official price list separates foreign visitor admission and parking, and lists the in-zoo sightseeing vehicle, golf cart and bicycle separately. Animal Shows and the water park are additional facilities; their terms are separate from the animal exhibits.

Before you visit

Check what separate facilities include

Foreign visitor admission, parking, in-zoo sightseeing vehicles, golf carts and bicycles each have separate fee listings. Animal Shows are also listed as a separate programme, and the water park’s current ticket inclusions are not determined by basic admission alone.
