Hotels, restaurants and shopping cluster around Beach Road. Before using beach chairs or rental services, ask about charges and conditions.

Time beside the sea

The waterfront and town along Beach Road

Along Beach Road, you can combine Pattaya’s waterfront with time in town. Hotels, restaurants and shopping are close, making it easy to step onto the sand after a meal or shopping. Stop for a sea-view break with friends or family.

Choose the northern or central and southern stretch

Try the northern stretch for a quieter walk. The central and southern areas suit a meal followed by shopping. Events and the time of your visit can change the atmosphere. Swim only in locally permitted areas, clear of boats and water sports equipment.

Swimming, waves and local conditions

Do not swim where boats and water sports equipment operate. Use only the swimming areas permitted locally.

Do not swim while red flags are flying. Read the marine forecast before leaving and follow local swimming instructions after arrival. Waves and weather may delay or cancel boat trips, so ask about bad-weather conditions when booking.

Frequently asked questions

Are Pattaya Beach and Jomtien the same place?

No. Pattaya Beach is in front of Beach Road in town; Jomtien is a separate beach to the south. Search for Jomtien Beach to visit it. For a sea view alongside central Pattaya’s restaurants and shops, head to the Beach Road shore.

Where can I take a quieter walk?

Try the northern part of Pattaya Beach. It is relatively quieter than the central and southern stretches, although events and the time of your visit can change the atmosphere.

Can I enter the water when there is a red flag?

No. A red flag means swimming is prohibited. Even if the sea looks calm, stay out of the water and spend your time on the shore.
