Patong Beach

Spend a relaxed day between the sea, restaurants and shops at Patong. A curved sandy bay runs along Phuket’s west coast, with hotels and a busy neighbourhood just behind it. It suits friends or couples who want a beach walk followed by a meal. Leave the day free of hurried sightseeing and enjoy moving between the waterfront and town.

On the west coast of Phuket’s main island, Patong is accessible by road. You do not need a boat to another island.

Karon Beach

For a slow walk on a long stretch of white sand, head to Karon on Phuket’s west coast, north of Kata. The open sea and long shoreline make it a pleasant place to walk and talk with your partner or family. Afterwards, take your time over a meal at a nearby restaurant.

Karon lies west of Phuket and north of Kata, with road access. The long sandy beach is Karon Yai. Karon Noi to the north is a hotel-guest access area with different entry conditions.

Plan the journey after choosing your beach

For mainland beaches, choose your actual drop-off and the route to the shore. For islands and beaches reached by boat, arrange the arrival pier and return journey too. Include the town or island name in searches, as different places can share a beach name.

Do not swim while a red flag is flying.

Do not swim while red flags are flying. Read the marine forecast before leaving and follow local swimming instructions after arrival. Waves and weather may delay or cancel boat trips, so ask about bad-weather conditions when booking.
