Do I need a tourist visa?
Check visa-exemption eligibility for your passport, travel purpose and intended stay first. If the trip requires a tourist visa, apply for the category matching those conditions.
Before applying for a tourist visa, check whether your passport and travel plans qualify for visa exemption. If you need a visa, decide whether your trip involves one entry or multiple entries. Use the official Thai e-Visa website and the Thai mission responsible for your application location to check documents, fees and the submission process.
Single-entry and multiple-entry visas differ in the number of permitted entries and the period during which you can use the visa. Read the validity and admitted-stay terms displayed for the category and mission handling your application. Visa validity is not the length of one stay.
If you need more time after arrival, check the applicable extension procedure with Thai immigration. An extension application requires approval. Do not plan your departure on the assumption that it will be granted; first read the permission recorded in your passport.
Use the document list shown by Thai e-Visa and the responsible mission. Prepare a readable passport copy, photograph, itinerary and accommodation evidence as requested. Check the passport-validity and photograph-age requirements for that application rather than copying another country’s checklist.
Your location and residence status can affect supporting documents and jurisdiction. If applying outside your passport country, read the mission’s requirements for proof of lawful stay or residence. Korean residence cards and K-ETA evidence belong to applications in Korea and are not a worldwide checklist.
Financial evidence, required balances, statement periods and document issue dates can differ by category and mission. Use the stated requirements for your application. Visa application bank evidence and cash evidence at immigration are different preparations.
Use the flight itinerary and accommodation documents requested by the mission. If a host invitation is accepted, read whether host identification and address evidence must accompany it. An invitation alone may not provide all the requested evidence.
Read the actual document requests in the application and respond to any additional requests after submission. Uploading documents does not mean approval: the mission can seek more material or reject an application that does not meet its requirements.
At thaievisa.go.th, create an account and enter your nationality, current location, passport type and tourist purpose. If passport details are read automatically, compare surname, given name and any middle name with the passport yourself.
Upload documents, complete the applicable fee process and press Submit. Fees and exemptions depend on the actual nationality and application; Korean fee exemptions are not universal. Check the selected passport type and the mission’s payment and refund conditions before submitting.
Follow the application status and email for further document requests. Once approved, download and save the e-Visa confirmation. Processing estimates are not guaranteed issue dates and additional checks can take longer. Apply with enough time before travel rather than relying on another mission’s processing estimate.
Even after receiving a tourist visa, complete the TDAC separately unless an official exemption applies. Submit through the official website within the three-day window including arrival day and save the resulting document on your phone.
At the airport, keep your passport and visa confirmation available. After immigration, read the actual permission-to-stay expiry in your passport. Plan departure around that permission, rather than the visa’s validity date.

No. The validity period tells you when the visa can be used; it is separate from the permission granted for each entry. After immigration, use the actual admitted-until date in your passport.
Check the amount and any exemption for your actual nationality and application on the official e-Visa site and responsible mission’s instructions. A fee exemption described for Korean nationals is not a worldwide rule. Follow any required payment-completion step.
Submission is not approval. Monitor status and email, respond to requests, and obtain the approval document. A published processing estimate does not guarantee an issue date.
