Evidence for a baggage insurance claim
Check your own travel policy and ask your insurer which documents it needs.
Get proof from the airline
BA directs passengers to Customer Relations for proof of baggage loss, damage or delay to support an insurance claim. Keep the airline report reference and receipts; your policy determines cover and the insurer’s required documents.
Find your Allianz UK claim channel
For bank-linked cover or a policy bought through a travel agent or broker, use the dedicated number in your policy booklet. For direct purchases, Allianz UK directs you first to its online portal for 24-hour submission and status checks.
Request written departure-delay evidence
Ask the airline, rail or shipping company, or handling agent, for written confirmation of scheduled and actual departure times and the delay reason. An airline’s arrival-delay certificate can have different conditions; check what your policy requires.
Follow up on your claim
For follow-up enquiries about directly purchased cover, Allianz UK lists 020 8603 9958, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. Check your own policy’s full terms and keep the evidence requested for your case.
Are Allianz UK instructions the same as BA certificate rules?
No. Insurance definitions and evidence requirements follow your policy; airline certificate issue conditions are separate.
