Prepare travel insurance reimbursement documents
Use your insurer’s requirements and policy conditions.
This is HDFC ERGO’s reimbursement process, not a guarantee of cover.
Submit and keep copies
Email documents to [email protected]. Prepare the form, NEFT details, cancelled cheque and policy-linked proposer eKYC. Keep copies; additional documents may be requested.
Flight delay
Use signed Section E, the airline’s duration-and-cause letter, ticket/boarding pass and receipts for essential expenses directly caused by the delay.
Baggage delay
Use signed Section D, original PIR, delay-period evidence, emergency-purchase receipts and airline compensation details.
Loss, damage or cancellation
Baggage loss/damage: Section D, original PIR, itemised airline claim, carrier report, baggage tags, passport and receipts. Cancellation: reason evidence, prepaid costs and refund details. Both baggage claims also need ticket/boarding pass, baggage tags, passport India entry/exit records and airline compensation details.
Airline information
Is an airline certificate enough?
No. Use the insurer’s document list for your claim type.
Are requirements identical across insurers?
No. Check your own policy’s eligibility and insurer’s instructions.
Does filing a PIR guarantee my insurance payout?
No — the PIR documents the incident, but payout follows your policy wording.
