Use the Food menu in the Grab app when you want a meal delivered to your hotel. This guide covers choosing a delivery location, cash and foreign-card payments, cancellations, and the documented registration steps for a South Korean phone number.
Grab Thailand’s help page says verification codes for South Korean numbers are sent by SMS. If you use a South Korean number, select South Korea as the country code and enter a mobile number that can receive texts. Enter the 6-digit code to continue registration.
If the text does not arrive, check your phone’s message filters and mobile network connection. A travel data-only line does not replace SMS reception on your existing South Korean number, so check that number’s text-message settings too.
Open Food in Grab and match the hotel address to the map pin. Available restaurants and delivery times depend on this address.
Select dishes, quantities and extras, and check whether the order is for delivery or restaurant collection.
Open Payment details in your basket, then See all to choose a payment method. Review food prices, delivery fees, discount conditions and charges before tapping Place Order.
Ask reception where food deliveries should be collected, then agree the location with the rider in the app. Room delivery depends on hotel rules. Have the order amount ready if paying cash.
Grab Thailand lists cash and credit or debit cards issued in Thailand or abroad. KakaoPay is also among the official payment methods. Check the payment screen for the options available to your own account and order.
Payments with foreign cards or foreign e-wallets carry a foreign-payment fee of 3% of the total transaction, with a minimum of 1 baht. Fractions of 0.5 baht or more round up; smaller fractions round down. Your card issuer may also charge its own overseas transaction fee.
The payment method from your most recent ride or order may be selected by default, so review it before ordering. Grab says splitting payment between GrabPay and cash is not supported.
The official guidance describes cancellation as more likely to be approved if the restaurant has not accepted the order, if it is delayed by more than 15 minutes without an assigned rider, or if it is delayed by more than 30 minutes while the food is still at the restaurant.
Cancellation may be difficult once delivery has started or the order is complete. For a group order, the person who created it must request cancellation. An order is not always free to cancel simply because a rider has not yet been assigned.
In Activity, select the food order you want to cancel.
Tap Get Help at the top right of the order screen. Cancel order appears if the order is eligible for cancellation.
After requesting cancellation, look for a success notification. Pressing the button alone does not mean the order has been cancelled.
Keep your order history and photos of the food, packaging and receipt. Report the problem through Get Help on that order, and check its guidance for refund approval and progress.
