Keep the baggage report reference
A missing baggage report reference is different from your check-in baggage receipt. Use the report to track the bag and update delivery details. BA’s reporting page says to report a delayed bag within eight days of the flight.
Claiming for essentials
Keep receipts for reasonable essential purchases. BA’s claims page separately states a 21-day missing-bag reporting deadline; act promptly using the earlier reporting instruction and retain both your report and receipts.
